How to clean your vape tank

Cleaning your vape tank is something a lot of people tend to neglect, and I believe it’s something quite important as regular maintenance of your tank will make for a much more pleasurable vaping experience.

It doesn’t take long to do, and there’s a few different methods I’m going to discuss with you. This article will be a brief guide on how to maintain and clean your vape tank properly to get the most enjoyable vaping experience possible!

When and how often you should clean your vape tank

There isn’t an outright answer on how often you should clean your vape tank really. A lot of people say you should always give it a clean before you refill with juice, especially if you’re changing your flavour.

This isn’t such a bad idea, especially if you’re switching from something fruity to a dessert flavour, or from a menthol to a different flavour. Because nobody would really enjoy a minty banana milkshake, would they?

If you’re a stickler for the same flavour and don’t often change your vape juices, I would still recommend giving it a clean every couple of days just to make sure any residue from your vape juice is washed away and ensure nothing that shouldn’t be in your tank is in there, especially if you keep it in your bag or pockets.

Methods to clean your vape tank – Water

A good old-fashioned water and rinse method will do the job nicely. You’ll want to fill up a bowl with warm water and disassemble your tank. Make sure you take your coil out from the base of the tank (I’ll talk about how to give these a clean-up shortly), separate the glass from the frame, and take your drip tip/mouthpiece out and submerge all of these into the bowl of warm water.

You can always put a bit of washing up liquid in for the extra clean factor if you wanted to but ensure that everything is rinsed clean after you take it out of the water.

Give everything a dry with a paper towel, and then leave to air dry before reassembling your tank.

Methods to clean your vape tank – Ultrasonic Cleaner

If you want to give your tank a premium clean, you can always use an Ultrasonic cleaner to give your tank a sparkling finish!

Not everyone has access to these, and they’re not really a necessity to run out and purchase, but if you do have access to one, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try.

Essentially, an ultrasonic cleaner is just a high-powered bowl of soapy water but gives everything a much more thorough clean by creating ultrasonic waves that move in the water to create small, microscopic bubbles that produce somewhat of a scrubbing effect that gives it a thorough clean.

Methods to clean your coils

Cleaning your coils can prolong their life a little bit, but it does just delay the inevitable of them eventually needing replacing. If you find they’re getting a bit gunked up, give them a little rinse under some warm water and give it a wipe with a cotton bud or a paper towel and remove any excess gunk or water, and leave it to air dry before putting it back in your tank.

Hopefully this brief guide will help you if you’re new to vaping, and wanted to know how to keep your tank clean and performing at it’s maximum potential!
